Good Evening, GZA Members!
Welcome, everyone, to this important General Body Meeting of the GZA. Tonight, we have the crucial task of electing our new Executive Committee for the term spanning 2025 to 2028.
I had the distinct privilege of serving on the previous Executive Committee from 2022 to 2025 as your Vice President. It was an honor to contribute to our community during that period.
I want to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding work of the past Executive Committee, led so ably by our former President, Mr. Bimal Dey. Under his leadership, we organized a number of excellent programs, including our annual GZA Foundation Day and Nabo Borsho Celebrations. Our President will elaborate further on the specifics of these and other successful initiatives.
Key Observations for GZA’s Future
During my tenure, I made several observations that I believe are vital for the continued growth and success of GZA. I want to share these with you as we look ahead:
-
Empowering All Voices: No single individual should dominate the direction of GZA. We thrive when all members feel empowered to contribute.
-
Collaborative Leadership: We need a participatory management style, not an autocratic one. Our strength lies in collective decision-making and shared responsibility.
-
Clear Objectives: Our goals and objectives must be clearly defined and understood by everyone. This clarity will guide our efforts effectively.
-
Strategic Vision: Let’s develop a clear 10-year roadmap for GZA. A long-term vision will ensure sustainable growth and impact.
-
Regular Progress Reviews: We should hold at least one quarterly meeting to review the progress of our programs and initiatives. This ensures accountability and allows us to adapt as needed.
-
Resource Mobilization: Securing resources and funds is crucial. We must actively seek more sponsors. Furthermore, I propose that the individual or team initiating a program should be responsible for arranging at least 50% of the funds required for that program. Ideally, we should aim for 100%.
-
Committee Approval for Programs: To maintain structure and ensure alignment with our objectives, all programs must be approved by the Executive Committee.
-
Strengthening GZA’s Brand: We need to focus on branding GZA to increase our reach, not just within Goa but beyond. A strong brand will attract more members and support.
I once again extend my gratitude to all members for your continued support in helping GZA achieve its objectives.
Thank you.
